What do you charge for custom work?
Because of the varying types of printing, paper and design options available, we will provide an exact quote once we have talked with you and determined the specifics of your project. Our starting price for a custom, hand-painted, hand-lettered wedding invitation suite (set of 100) flat printing on standard white stock is $900. For a set of 50 flat cards (Save the Dates, Wedding, Graduation and Birth Announcments, Party and Shower Invitations), our starting price is $450. What is your process?
Our design process involves lots of conversation and collaboration. We want to get to know you and become inspired by your vision so that we can create the design of your dreams. You can read more about the specifics of our process here.
What printing options do you offer?
Beautiful designs come alive with the right printing option. We offer fine flat printing, foiling, letterpress, embossing, thermography and more. Pairing the theme and style of the invitation with the right printing method is an important and fun part of our design process!
What is a nib?
A nib is the pointed pen tip that is inserted in the pen holder and dipped in ink to make the beautiful thick and thin lines of calligraphy. On downstrokes, the points of the pen spread apart allowing a bigger flow of ink for those thick lines!
Can I get the digital file of my design and have it printed elsewhere?
We work with an excellent printing company that has a reputation for high-quality workmanship. During the printing stage, we work closely with them, overseeing the process and making sure the final product is true to the color and detail of our original artwork. It is a complex process that requires the oversight of skilled and detail-oriented artists. For this reason, we do not recommend taking your design elsewhere to be printed as we cannot guarantee the quality of the finished product. We do occasionally make exceptions to this, so if you are interested in receiving the digital file only, please contact us to discuss it further.
If I purchase my invitations will I own the artwork?
No, all artwork designs are the property of Brush & Nib Studio, and cannot be reproduced in any way without written consent from the artists at Brush & Nib Studio.
